Weekly Math Blast (week one)

This week we are starting a new segment called Weekly Math Blast. One math problem will be posted each week. Next week the answer to the previous week's problem will be posted along with a new problem. Now for the first math problem.

1: Alex spent 3/7 of his money. He gave 1/4 of the remainder to his sister. He had $120 left. How much money did he have in the beginning?
